I knit and embellished this soaker with the wish we all share -- the wish for peace. I wish for every family to be together, for every child to live in a loving home, with a safe, warm, place to rest and with the nourishing food to grow strong and healthy. I wish for all people to learn to live together, in harmony, Each stitch of this soaker is a wish for peace and love in this world.
This soaker is hand-dyed in shades of pink, orange, and purple, with the Chinese symbol for "Peace" embroidered on the back. The body is knit from 100 percent organic and humane yarn from Full Belly Farms.
Special design features include non-binding, stretchy leg cuffs and extra fullness in the back to give perfect coverage over any type of cloth diaper. This is a size medium, with a waist that stretches from 12-26", thighs of 8-17" and a rise of 19".
Fifty percent of the proceeds of this auction will be donated to Timothy House as part of the Fluff Factory auctions. The other fifty percent will be donated to the Tinybirds Charity Donation store to benefit orphans in China. The winner will need to split their payment, one half to FF, and the other half in the form of a check to "Families with Children from China Orphanage Appeal." This is to ensure that the buyer will receive appropriate tax credit for their Tinybirds donation.
Please join me in my wish for peace and bid generously for these two wonderful causes. Thanks!
To care for your Kool Sheep soaker, hand wash in warm water with baby shampoo, squeeze out excess water in a towel, and lay flat to dry. Every once in a while, lanolize by shaking hot water, shampoo, and a bit of lanolin together in a jar and adding this liquid to the wash water. Allow to soak for 15-20 minutes, then dry as usual. Generally, you will only need to wash your soaker every two to three weeks and lanolize every third or fourth wash.
